Jain Shiksha Samaraddhi Project (JSSP) Completes One Year
Gaiety, festivity and fervour were spread all over as JSSP celebrated its first birth day in a well attended function on 12th January, 2014 at Banda, District Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. Starting from July 2013, within a short span of six months JSSP has marked its presence in three districts of Bundelkhand through 14 Learning Centres functioning from 11 towns. The project is touching the lives of more than 600 children studying from class I to VIII through more than 200 intensively trained teachers. Positive behavioural changes and enhancement in academic and extra academic performance of children have been witnessed. A publication ‘Smarika – Badhte Kadam’ was unveiled on the occasion. An in-house news letter ‘Chetna’ was also launched. All the fourteen centres put up impressive stalls on the occasion to exhibit the work done by their children. Students from Banda centres presented colourful cultural programme. Teachers from various centres narrated their success stories while distinguished speakers from different walks of life highly appreciated the tangible achievements of the project and expressed their hope that the project will soon succeed in its goal of bringing all round prosperity in the society through integrated and value based education.

JSS Teachers Receive Intensive Training at Internationally Recognized Centre:
Regional coordinator, centre coordinators and teachers from JSS Learning Centres received intensive residential training that covered Interactive and Inclusive Teaching Methodology, Use of Learning Aids in Teaching and Information and Communication Technology. This customized training was conducted at world renowned Pathways School at Gurgaon. JSS staff attended the training in two batches during September 23 -27, 2013 and September 30 – October 04, 2013.

Formal Inauguration of JSS Clubs

Formal inauguration of JSS Clubs was done in an impressive function conducted at DeraPahari, Chhatarpur on October 8, 2013. Function was attended by large number of dignitaries, Central Body Officials, club members, coordinators and teachers besides a large number of members of community. Children of local centres presented cultural programme. Club members were administered oath by President Shri Vijay Kumar. Staff members reminisced on their training experience at Pathways School. Centres were gifted interesting collection of NBT books for children and kits of teaching aids.

Visit to Centers

Trainer Shri Ashok Jain and Director Dr N.K.Jain conducted an extensive tour of all the learning centersduringOctober 23 – 29, 2013 and thereafter during November 11 – 16, 2013. Director ShriSumat Kumar Jain also joined in the later tour. A detailed review of working of club members, teachers and centres was conducted. Dr N.K.Jain, who is an authority on Jainism conducted several public discourses during this visit.

Blessings from Saints

JSS was inaugurated on January 12, 2013. It shall be celebrating its first anniversary on January 12, 2014. During December 2013 President Shri Vijay Jain, Treasurer ShriPramod Jain, General Secretary ShriJeevendra Jain, Secretary ShriJawaharLal Jain and Director Dr N.K.Jain met various revered Jain Saints and who profusely blessed them for success of this noble endeavour.

Laptop Distribution

In a colourful and well attended function conducted at Shahgarh on December 5, 2013, President Shri Vijay Jain distributed Laptops to various Learning Centre Coordinators. Respective Learning Centres have arranged internet connectivity and teachers and students alike are making extensive use of Information Communication Technology in their teaching – learning process.
